LEARN TO PLAY GUITAR LOCALLY

Suitable for ages 6 and up

Beginner, intermediate and Advanced level tuition

Location:

In person lessons in the Cobar township  (Tuesday or Wednesday) or in Bourke (Mondays only)  during school term.

Lesson types available:

Group lessons 

One to one lessons (depending on availability)

Age appropriate programs

Ages 6-8

We focus on getting used to guitar positioning, becoming familiar with a few different notes on the guitar, making a clear sound, integrated with movement and basic music reading. Exploration of sounds and creativity in an encouraging learning environment.

Ages 8-10

As above as well as playing selected contemporary songs with chords. Skills off reading chord charts and tablature. Opportunities for song writing.

Ages 10 and above

A focus of giving skills that will enable playing and creating songs that align with the interest of the student.

Cost

-$37.50 for a 45 minute group lesson

-$40 for a 30 minute lesson (one to one), depending on spaces available

Equipment required

Feel free to use one of our instruments, (subject to availability of appropriate sized instruments) if you would like to try a lesson out.

For continuing lessons, we recommend purchasing your own guitar (usually starts at about $120) as 'at home' practice is  required for you to see progress and to build confidence.

For children, a footstool, capo, sheet music folder and music stand is very helpful for use in my programs and for ease in their learning experience.  

Child safety

We consider your child's safety of the utmost importance. For one-to-one lessons to people under the age of 18, we have a 'no parent no play' policy. This means that parents will have to  be on site and in ear shot for lessons to occur.
